Would your organisation benefit from pro bono financial support provided by a local registered CPA
May 15, 2012
Pro Bono Australia in partnership with CPA Australia are seeking Not for Profit organisations who would benefit from engaging a CPA Australia volunteer to provide pro bono financial support. Over 100,000 registered members of CPA Australia (including Accountants, Treasurers and Auditors) are being invited to volunteer with Not for Profit organisations in their local area.
Bowen Street Community Centre is a great example of a local organisation looking to engage a CPA Australia volunteer Auditor. Here's what Mary Liston, the manager from Bowen Street has to say “It’s good for them and good for us. Volunteering for our organisation is of mutual benefit. Also, it’s not an ongoing job, it’s short, sharp and sweet which is great for accountants too. As the position we are looking to fill is only a week long, securing a volunteer auditor means they can come in, tell us what we’ve done wrong and then we can fix it.”
Projects can be: • Short or long term • One off projects – for example reviewing financial policies and procedures or assisting with budget development • Ongoing – for example a book keeper, board or committee member, auditor, accountant or treasurer.
