This PILCH Connect information outlines some of the key legal issues that may arise for community organisations when organising events and activities which involve travel. The information covers the legal liability issues which may arise when transporting people (such as clients) to activities, as well as when your employees, volunteers or members undertake travel while working or volunteering for your organisation. Some useful resources has been developed by Council of Social Services of NSW (NCOSS). The Do You use your own Car for Work or Volunteering Purposes resource (though specific to NSW) has has some useful suggestionsand considerations for developing policies and procedures in this area.

Our Community has set up an area on their website to help community groups throughout Australia access valuable information, support and resources on risk management and insurance.
