Around the Bay in a Day is the ultimate one day cycling challenge organised by Bicycle Victoria . It is Australia’s largest bike ride, with over 15,500 people participating last year. Importantly, both The Smith Family and Bicycle Victoria rely on Volunteers to make this event a success. This year’s event needs a total of 600 volunteers, particularly from the Geelong region!
The Smith Family has been affiliated as the major charity partner of Around the Bay in a Day for 18 years. In 2010, The Smith Family hopes to raise $1,000,000 – The Smith Family relies on participants to ‘ride for a reason’ and fundraise to help those in need by seeking sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues. Event registration fees go to Bicycle Victoria to stage the event and to assist our mission of getting ‘More People Cycling More Often’. By registering as a Volunteer in this year’s event, you will receive: - Event uniform including a long sleeved polo shirt and hat
- Drawstring backpack
- Commemorative drink bottle
- Lunch & Treats throughout the day
- Insurance
- Support and guidance
- An opportunity to contribute to Australia’s largest bike ride.
- A chance to have fun!
All registered volunteers will also go into the grand prize draw to win to win a 7.5 FX Trek bicycle valued at $1,500 with thanks to Rapido Cycles as well as monthly prize draws....
