G21 Project Based Volunteering will benefit four partner organisations: Deakin University; BacLinks; United Way and Leaders for Geelong. Representatives from these four organisations will form a steering committee to guide the project. DPCD Barwon South West will also be represented. The G21 project will establish a centralised and co-ordinated approach enabling project based volunteers to be linked with community services organisations. The project will align Volunteering Geelong with the future direction of volunteering which is moving towards project based opportunities. The project based model means that volunteers are available for a distinct project or cause as opposed to an ongoing volunteering commitment. For further information contact Gail Rodgers on 5221 1377. |
